Bring your current care instructions, medication list and the questions that matter most to you. The goal is an informed discussion, not arriving with a self-selected treatment plan. Do not upload medical records or wound photographs to this website.
During the discussion
Ask the clinician to explain the wound assessment, the purpose of debridement and the alternatives. Make space to discuss your reaction to living larvae. Feeling hesitant is a valid part of the conversation.
During a treatment course
The clinical team decides the product, dressing, schedule and monitoring. Some people experience discomfort or increased pain; tell the team about changes rather than assuming they are expected. Follow the team's own care instructions. NHS patient guide
Before leaving
Know who to contact, when follow-up is due and what changes require an earlier review. Ask for instructions in a format you can use. A caregiver can join the discussion with your permission.
